Launched in 1925 as Ryvita Crispbread with the line "Ryvita makes you fit - keeps you slim”
Now part of the ABF group of companies, the brand was synonymous with low calorie dieting throughout 70s and 80s. It became a household name via the famous “Inch War” TV campaign and saw off many competitive brands, such that it has been the major crispbread brand for years – to the point where, for many people, Ryvita is a generic term for crispbread.
